Borough officials wish to advise residents that the fall leaf collection program will begin the week of November 4th. The following information is being provided to allow homeowners to coordinate their yard cleanups with the street curbside collection of leaves in their neighborhoods to the greatest extent possible.
We will be going through neighborhoods in a systematic manner to make these street curbside collections. Leaves are first pushed into large piles on the residential blocks and then picked up. The first section to have curbside pickup of leaves will be Section 2B between Erie Ave. and Union Ave.., followed by Section 2A from Union Ave. to Passaic Ave.., followed by Section lB between Passaic Ave. and Pierrepont Ave. and lastly, Section lA from Pierrepont Ave. to Route 3. There will be three passes by DPW crews between Nov. 4 and Dec. 24. No curbside leaf pickups will be performed after Dec. 24th.
leaves in biodegradable bags and open containers will be picked up after Dec. 24.
NO PLASTIC BAGS PLEASE! In order to determine the exact location of our DPW leaf crews, residents can call our fall leaf collection hotline to obtain a day-to-day update.
