As a resident of Rutherford we are sure you are aware of the reputation that our community enjoys. Beautiful tree lined streets; an excellent school system and a quaint, old time feeling are just a few of the many wonderful things about our town.
The Board of Aesthetic continues its goal of keeping the borough aesthetically pleasing. As a volunteer organization the commission has no legal power, but they do have the power to see and hear about problems that detract from making the Borough a great place in which to work and live. The members of the Board of Aesthetics take several walking tours during the year, anything they see that needs to be done is referred to the attention of the Mayor and Council.
Being a resident of Rutherford also carried a responsibility, everyone can contribute to the overall aesthetics of our town by observing garbage and recycling schedules, keeping sidewalks and street areas cleaned and free of debris, maintaining landscaping by mowing/raking leaves for removal, and general home maintenance.
The Board of Aesthetic Review meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:30PM. Meetings are held at the Rutherford Borough Hall in the Recreation Office.
