"55 Kip Center, a non-profit organization, has served and supported older adults in the Rutherford area since 1985. Our mission is to promote the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual well being of older adults and to facilitate their participation in all aspects of community life.
Membership: Open to all older adults from any community. There is no age minimum, however, programs are geared for older adults. The $5 membership fee for residents and the $12 yearly membership fee for non-residents entitles the member to free parking on the 3rd level of the parking garage, participation in the Center's activities and programs, and the Kip Kourrier, a monthly newsletter containing a monthly schedule of classes and events and information as well as a listing of services.

Rutherfords mini-bus leaves the center every 1/2 hour.

Health and Wellness
- Fitness Classes including aerobics, chair aerobics, strength training, T'aiChi Chih, Yoga and Men's only fitness

Nutritious Meals
- Lunches feature a full course home cooked meal on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Meals also offered on Saturday. Reservations are necessary. The cost of each meal is $3.00.
Bridgebuilders
- Our intergenerational volunteer program offers opportunities to be of service in the center and the community. Volunteers offer services both at the Center and as a Home Friend who provides in-home support service to older adults or the disabled in the south Bergen county area. Services offered include escort, shopping, friendly visiting, telephone reassurance, and modified social respite for caregivers.
Spiritual Guidance
- The Center's Chaplain offers spiritual guidance and his weekly discussion group incorporates Biblical teachings into today's world.
