RECREATION GIRLS SOFTBALL OPENING DAY CEREMONIES

Councilwomen Maura Keyes threw out the opening pitch on April 12, 2008 for the Recreation Girls' Softball Program.

Thank you to Wendy's Restaurant for donating 600 frostiie shakes for Opening Day events.

At the Recreation Girls Softball Opening Ceremony the team the "Red Devils" read The Girls Softball Pleadge.

COMMUNITY WOOD CHIP BRIGADE

The Rutherford Recreation Department and Council Liaison John Sasso would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the members of Girl Scout Troop #430 and #539; Cub Scout Pack #168; Members of the Board of Aesthetic Review; Dept. of Public Works and Chris Siedler for assisting in the preparation and distributing of playground wood chips at all of the Rutherford playground facilities on April 5th. We appreciate all of the volunteers' time, commitment and hard work in making this community event a success.

RUTHERFORD RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S HOLDS ITS 1ST BASKETBALL GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD CEREMONY

The Rutherford Recreation Department recently had a Good Sportsmanship Award Ceremony in memory of 9/11 Victim Tim Finnerty. The recipients from the Recreation Basketball Program were 8th graders Kimberly Gallagher and Kevin Mc Gorry. The theme of the award in memory of Tim Finnerty was "Remember a life and legacy bonded by basketball, a tribute to an enduring spirit".
